Unfortunatly I had to come into work and couldn't play in the snow today. We had almost 8" at my house this morning. At least I did get a good laugh on my way into work.

I normally will stop and help out anyone stuck on the side of the road. But on my way in I was crossing an intersection and a soccer mom decided that she didn't have to try and stop and drove into the intersection right in front of me. No attempt on her part to stop and I had the right of way. She cut me off but I just let her go. A few hundered yards down the road as she was passing oter people I watched her spin into a ditch. She didn't hit anyone and didn't look hurt so I kept on driving even though I could have pulled her out. She wasn't far from help since this was a residential area.

I had a smile on my face all the way into work knowing that she was probably in a safer place now that she couldn't run stop signs with 7-8" of snow on the streets.

Be safe and I hope everyone else is enjoying the snow. :-)

Good story. I would have had a hard time not stopping.

Well...:-)

Maybe this will teach her. I hope she wasn't driving like that with a child in the car.

Have fun in the snow AL!

Ken

I'm at work too....Disco is in the driveway (I walk to work) but I wish I could have called in sick! We got about 4-5 inches...but it's beginning to melt on the hard surfaces. :-(

**Hoping for more**

Hey Sus,

Where have you been? I haven't seen your disco around in a while. Maybe because you've been walking around Rivermont lately.

I had to work in Coraopolis PA last night and this morning, but there was not enough snow on the ground to even make driving in it fun.....then I had to drive back home to WV....I should have detoured and gone through Ohio, maybe I could have seen more snow....

2nd MTN is open during the hunting season. And, I think they only close it on the Rt.33 side during the summer months. Land Owners throw a fit about the traffic, yet they want to be able to use the road. So right now 2nd MTN is open. I have heard since the hurrican that the power company made a few new routes. I'm not 100% on that because I have not seen it with my own eyes yet.
Any of the trails in Rawley are alot of fun in snow. Even stuff like Dundor Hollow (Switzer Dam Road). Work has me tied up on call till Wednesday so I cannot do a planned trip. It has to be spur of the moment type of thing and I can't really be gone out of cell phone range too long. But, if anyone wants to do something like Union Springs to Meadow Knob and back down thru Flag Pole type thing let me know.

You may be thinking of Old Long Run Road being closed off for good. That is the trail on the back side of 2nd MTN sometimes called Jolletts.

Yeah... I think I may have been thinking of Old Long Run. I'm going to have to wait until January to make a trip out there due to work. I hope we have some good snow then.:-)

Hey Will and Al. Let me know when you're going to make a run by Rawley Springs. I'd like to tag along.
There's some good trails back there.

Now that I'm back home to the DC area we had 2" last night and expecting as much as 6 - 10" more tonight and through tomorrow.

Hey Will. I drive a Java Black D2. I've only had it fo about a month.
It's stock for now but next week I'm headed to Richmond to get it looked at before the warranty expires and stopping at Rovertym to pick up some springs.
I look forward to meeting people with the same interest and finding some new trails.

20" and still falling around boston! disco had no troubles for my emergency diaper run last night...
seriously. engaged CDL and drove carefully and she didn't even hesitate. there were scores of cars and trucks stuck and spinning everywhere! not me.
half the battle is driving smart, anyway. of course, the disco does outperform the little jetta for sure.
here's to a great start for ski season!!
cheers,
carl

Walter, if you need any help in installing your new parts let me know. I would be glad to help. Also check out www.sv4w.org They are a local club in the area. Good group of guys. There is only two rovers in the group, but look for that to change soon. They go to a few places a year. Last year they hit Telico, and Paragon as "Big Trips" and had a full schedule of local trails in Rawley, Covington, Madison, Winchester, and Raphine. Also check out www.brlrc.org They do about 4-5 trips a year in the area.
