I saw this item and am curious if anyone on the board has used it or seen it used.

I ran a search and didn't find too much detail about such a set-up. Pros or cons? Thanks.

I would NEVER hang a can of gas off the rear of a rig. You do know that gas is flamable don't cha'? (and Blitz cans suck!)
But back to your question, I used that exact mount to hang a power tank off my Jeep and the weld cracked twice in a year. After rewelding the whole thing its still holding.

I'm not sure if I would want to hang an extra ~30 lbs. on the rear door.

Not legal in some states, and do not ever let a friend who is a firefighter see it.

I agree with Al. I heard gas wieghs 12 lbs per gallon (could be wrong) but with a 5 gallon can, you do the math! The distance back away from the door could add more leverage on the spare tire mount. Which would probably start to crack that part of the back door. My dad put a rack on the rear of his jeep, and it cracked the door around the mounting points. The bouncing of a dirt road would be hell too.

6 sounds closer...water is 8 lbs a gallon and gas floats on water. so...it needs to be a little lighter than water...

density determines whether something floats, not weight.

water weighs 8.33 lbs/gal.
gasoline has a specific gravity between 0.680 and 0.751, depending on the type of gas.

So, gas weighs between 5.66 and 6.26 lbs/gal.
