The cruise control in my 94 disco stopped working suddenly? The light in the switch still works. Any ideas, or how to trouble shoot would be helpful.

Thanks

you can check all the vacume lines under the hood for split ends and leaks. It runs from the top of the engin to a T. One end go's through the driver side firewall to some kind of break switch, and the outher side runs to a vacume pump that's under neath the jack storage.
Outherwise if you do a search there is some post about trouble shooting the cc system electronicly to see if the computer part works.. but its more work to figure it out then to just not use cruise. :-)

Send me that email. Mine is not working either, even after replaceing the hoses under the hood.

Charles? Would you mind sending it to one more person. Myself?

My cruise has gone out on my 98 Disco also.

Thanks!
Eric Y.

In what for many long-time DWebbers is a very common occurrence, my cruise took a shit on me today, not 45 minutes after reading this thread.

Just gives me one more thing to tinker with, so it's not too bad...

This is what I have. The wire colors did not match on my 1994 but the pin-outs did.

I would check the cruise switch down by the break pedal...its right next to the brake light switch. They can come loose and then your cruise wont work.

Thanks for the credit Charles. Did you find it useful? I mean, were you able to solve your problem?

As near as I can tell, that troubleshooting guide should test all the electrical (read: not the vacuum hoses) components of the cruise control system.

There are a few disclaimers, but they are included in the pdf.

Good luck and HTH,

Kit Scott

Everything electrical is good with mine.(switches,wiring,etc...) I have taken the ecu out and am thinking about just shotgunning the parts on it. I am still waiting for the motivation to hit. Charles

Isnt this a telltale for the VSS going bad?
Matt
