For some reason I have a subscription to C&D (not my favorite auto rag). While flipping across the pages of the Nov 2003 issue I ran into an ad for the new Rangie on page 105. It reads... Not a. Not an. Not another. Not Belonging to. Not part of. Not amid. Not among. The. And it shows a clear blue sky with a few whisps of clouds. At the bottom is a large parking lot (empty) with two lamps. (The kind of parking lot I remember seeing so many times in the South West that had not a single tree at the local shopping mall) And a Rangie sitting alone in the lot. In the distant background (FAR in the distance) is a moutain range with some snow. I couldn't help buy laugh at how true this ad was and how it spoke to the current state of Land Rovers offering in the US. At least the D2 is going out with the (re)introduction of the CDL. |
