If I can only afford 1 ARB locker now ), which do you think should be first - front or back ??

I'm thinking back first so I still have some steering.

Back, but not becasue of the steering, ARB's have no affect on steering. Thats the great thing about selectible lockers. For steering, a TT up front helps correct steering wander.

If you can only do one it should be the rear no doubt. That gives you the most traction of the two and like you said it has no effect on steering.

I would say rear aswell. But, also think about the future. A ARB up front and a Detroit in the rear will save you a little money in the long run. Both quality parts and extreamly effective. Duel ARB's I feel is the way to go though (IMO). Then, I would say rear for sure to start with.

yep, rear. ya need it going up and your weights all transfered back. If you have trouble wheelin down hill, then put it in the front :-)

when you combine the Spool action a ARB gives you with a CDL you get a very spin free driveline.

to spin either unlocked front wheel you must also spin both rears. This gives you plenty of traction to tackle tough trails.

You really may never need a front locker at all.

Christopher,

I sent an e-mail to Tractech about getting a Detroit Electrac (http://www.tractech.com/Products.htm)for the '98 Discovery, and they said that it isn't on the road map til something like 2005.

Victor
