Hey Lewis, we ought to get together some time. There is a group of us here in the salt lake area that love wheeling our discoveries in Moab. We don't seem to need much to motivate us to make the drive down.

Jamie, Bill is leading some trails around Moab just before and on New Year's Eve. There's plenty of time for you to drive slowly and carefully out there to join up. Not too much snow, beautiful scenery, rents in Moab are cheap this time of year, lots of places for dogs to run, and NO MUD! Go for it!

Ray,

I've been thinking about that everyday, don't think that will work though -- too many year end responsibilites. One never knows though, I could decide to just duck out and head west...

In the event that I am able to get out there before spring, I have been reading all I can get about driving on snow. Gee whiz, I had no idea that there are different kinds of snow! I'm going to quit asking fellow floridians if they have driven on snow. All I get are horror stories about their attempts and experiences.

I also emailed Rachel to find out how late in the season snow is on the ground & to get prices on snowchains. :-)

Jamie, let me know when you can make it out here and me and my wife will show you around (she has a DII also).

Jamie, from the updated pictures in your gallery, it looks like the RUD chains would also be useful in that awful mud you drive in. You just gotta come west, young lady, and see the great open, beautiful spaces. After hitting Moab, it's only another day west to the Mohave desert, then Death Valley, then the Sierras, then the coast. You'll find friends all along the way to show you the trails, help you, and pet your dogs. Give it serious thought. If you can't make it until January or February, that's OK--just cooler weather. But the scenery is great all the time.

Hey Matt! You have a standing invitation to come to Moab and wheel with us. We'll even put ya up for the duration if you bring "Katie".
Really, e-mail me if you want to come down (over?) during the school break. People are always stopping to stay and wheel and my wife seems to enjoy the company too. (I made her move from Texas and her family :-) )
Let me know,
Lewis and Rita

Lewis,
If I brought katie along, I wouldn't be able to take her home because you and your wife would want to keep her. :-) She's has the nicest disposition.
I might be able to talk my dad into something this summer. It's just hard finding the time over the summer when I have football and work every day. What I would really like to do is meet some folks up here so we could explore different parts of the rubicon. Have you ever entered a Nevada Trophy event? I haven't yet, but plan on signing up for the next one.

Thanks a lot for the invite,
Matt

Hey Matt, I've been thinking about some Nevada wheelin. A buddy from Texas is coming up here this summer and we will head over to CA. for the Rubicon. He's been wanting to do it for years.
We should get together then.
And I bet my wife would want Miss Katie!
Later,
Lewis
ps keep my number, you'll get over here sometime!

LOL ... Better not offer that, us "northerns" from Utah will end up knocking on your door every weekend. :-)

Lewis,
Just drop me an e-mail or message here on Dweb when you decide to come to Nevada. There's plenty of places to go wheeling here.
Ever hear of the "Moon Rocks?" It's a really nice spot to go wheeling, and it's not that far from Reno too (it's near Pyramid Lake). The "Moon Rocks" is a unique rock crawling spot. They held an RCAA event there not too long ago. Farther back on the main dirt road you head into hills full of trails and big junipers too.

Thanks,
Matt

Will do Matt! I got this trip to Belize next summer and we have to get our Rovers checked at Las Vegas Land Rover (one of the sponsers)before the trip. I'll let you know when I am going to go there and get my check out and we can spend a few days wheelin.

ANDY! When are you planning on going to MOAB? I finally got the truck back together and would love to "DO A RUN SOUTH" this season...
