Has anyone replaced these two items lately? If yes for what reason? I am still trying to figure out why it cranks longer then normal in the morning

Thanks
Lino

I will be replacing all 8 injectors in my 3.9 from my '90 RR. I had them tested for flow and they were not within spec. They had 160K miles on 'em. Also, some of the connecting pins looked burnt or had rust.

Sounds expensive, what did it cost for the injectors?

I paid a total of around $360-ish for 8 new injectors and seals. Thats $42/injector+seals.(plus 8% sales tax) About as inexpensive as there is.

I don't think the extended cranking time has much to do with injectors. Even with my worn out ones, it always started right up.
I would suspect the obvious stuff first. Ignition system and all the attendant parts.

What year is your Disco and what engine management system does it have?

My guess is your fuel system is leaking down pressure and the cranking is building it back up. You need to 1) verify this with a fuel pressure gauge on the schrader valve on the fuel rail after letting it sit then 2) isolate the pressure loss. I was thinking same thing when mine happened earlier this year, turns out it was the fuel pump losing pressure. There are some very helpful posts if you search for how to isolate fuel pressure loss.

I was having a very hard time starting my '97 Disco a month ago. Only intermitantly however. I found a complete rail/regulator assembly on E-bay for $35 and just replaced the regulator. Two weeks now and have not had any more troubles starting. We'll see if this continues, but so far, so good.
