My red brake light comes on intermittently while driving and more commonly while turning. If I'm at a light and depress the pedal it will go out. It all started when I disconnected the ABS pump (precautionary thing)... if its not one thing, its another. The fluid level is ok. Any ideas?? E-brake related, sensors??

it really does sound like a fluid level issue. or even the sensor itself if your convinced its full. unplugging the abs pump will not make the red brake light come on, it will make the orange abs light come on. e-brake sensor will not move during a turn or when you put on the brakes, nor will abs sensors, buttttttttttttt the fluid level will.

Not sure if the Discos have the same setup but my red brake warning light was coming on at full lock a while ago. It turned out that I was trapping the connector from the low pad warning wires - it had come loose from its clip.

More recently, the light came on intermittently because the pads were in fact low - who'd have thought? :-) Did you check the pads?

Thanks for the replies. The pads were replaced at the begining of the year. I'll double check the sensors and wires and see if thats the trick. I am also kinda wonderin if air pockets have gotten into the brake system.
