Can anyone give me some info on installing rear jump seats in a DI before I start, and get frustrated, then have to come in and log onto the web to write a post on Dweb, then wait a few hours for the right answer, while it starts raining outside, and the baby wakes up from his nap, so I can't even start the job if I wanted to now...

Thanks

The removal of jump seats are in the Haynes manual so I would think to reverse the order and there you are

I'm picking them up tomorrow. And I just realized that the removal is probably in the manual! However, I'm wondering if there is any special considerations since I am putting them into the truck for the first time -- it is not an SE-7. There are no holes in the rear trim for the mounting hardware I am assuming this will be the most difficult part -- making it look pretty!

My SD had jump seats when I bought it from the original owner. She had them dealer-installed. The panels look factory and I didn't see any replacement trim items on the invoice.

This leads me to believe there must be cut lines on the backside of the panels? I don't know how else they could have done it so neat.

YMMV

As long as you have all the hardware, the install is pretty straight forward. All the mounting holes are there and are tapped. All you need to do is cut the holes in the panels for the hardware. I mounted the brackets then put chalk on the ends of the brackets, shoved the panels against them to mark where the cuts needed to be made. I did a real nice job, however, once the seats are installed, you can't see behind the seats anyway, so don't waste your time being fancy unless your just picky like me. It really is very easy.

If your doing this in a D1 you will need the panels that go with the seats. So I would ask you if you are buying a factory kit they will come with it but if you are buying them second hand they may not and that will definetly add to your frustration.
