He's right though: "Does not change the laws of physics." No matter what you drive, once you start sliding down hill a 4x4 system is not going to stop you. It's pretty apparent by the skid marks, that he was too fast and probably doomed from 100 yards up the hill.

"Any other SUV would have rolled" ???? Maybe that's because the people on that thread are driving Touregs.

And the "check the skid marks....it just missed the accord my like an inch" comment is really intelligent...you think the accord might have pulled up "after" the truck slid off the bank..dumbass

Look at the Accord, there are no tire marks in the snow behind it. My guess is it was parked there. Plus the windows are covered in snow. I also think looking at the picture of that Cayanne the way the drivers front tire is planted and the right rear is up in the air a roll could be possible. More speed and any top heavy vehicle could have tipped, so could a car. Have you seen the tires they put on those Cayanne's? It kind makes them dry weather only vehicles. Why not just by a Carrara 4 and some blizaks?

is it my imagination or are people here getting pantys in a wad a bit much today?? This thread and the heated wiper thread are getting lame.
Hell, on the pirate board they were talking about who shaves thier body and it wasn't this childish....
anyhoo...this board still kicks, great tech stuff. Must just be a winter thing (y'all can't get out and play:-) )

Come on people! This is a classic "Whiskey Dent".
Based on my experience, there would be dog tracks in the snow. "I swear there was a three legged dog there". "Glad I missed him"....

I agree with Eddie, and I liked the Ace Ventura parking comment in their thread. I bet the guy was loaded, parked it like that thinking he did a good job and went to bed, then found it like this the next morning! LOL

Had an interesting experience at Walters Porsche this morning. I was in for some service on my Audi (K & N filter probably fouled my MAF sensor), so I had a chat with one of the sales guys about the Cayenne. I made the mistake of mentioning that I also owned a Land Rover, and immediately the guy jumped in with, "Well, our Cayenne was designed to do everything the Land Rovers can do." And, "Maybe there are some areas where Land Rover's performance is better, but it's only by 10ths." Etc. Not very diplomatic. The case could be made that the Cayenne drives like a sports car on the road, and (kind of) drives like a truck offroad. I was not convinced, though, that my truck is crap and I have immediately to trade it for a Cayenne.

There really is no comparison between them other than they both have 4 wheels....they are just too completely different. Why do they try.....

That's a no-no to bash another brand, especially if the guy owns it. Had a Nissan guy do that to me trying to convince me that the Xterra was the cat's a#@ and I made a mistake with my Disco but all he was doing was quoting me stats. Never been off-road in his life. Didn't impress me and I never went back.
