Floor near the center console in the rear passenger area is hot.

Comments? I assume muffler/cats are getting really hot .. but I thought cats usually warm the front passenger floor.

ANyhow ...

thanks in advance

There is a heat shield around the muffler. It may not be there or it may be worn out.

The muffler may have a hole in it as well, this will heat things up pretty fast.

Thanks .. I think I do have a hole started in it. I'll crawl under and take a look.
Thanks

I have the same problem...just don't put your frozen groceries on the floor back there! Had exhaust work done and nothing was mentioned...so I have let it be...

There is a heater vent under the center console...when the heat is on in the truck, that area will get warm so your passenger toes are toasty.

I had the same problem. Check to make sure your O2 sensors are good and that the exhaust is free of obstructions. In my case it turned out that the PO had one replacement cat fitted and the muffler shop or whoever did the work did not remove the O2 sensor prior to welding the new cat in, so the sensor was basically fried and the cat was just struggling to keep up, basically fouling up the entire exhaust chain down to the center muffler, which is right below the rear passenger floor. If you have rubber mats it just makes it worse because of the heat conductivity.
