the day i left home at the end of thanksgiving break my e brake decided to not disengage... at all. so my dad took it up to the dealership for me and what he told me was "they said some box is all locked up and its going to be $700". is this another one of those things i can get done for 49.95 somewhere else? |

Ted - it's not too hard to check a few things yourself - just a bit time consuming. 1) Make sure cable is still attached at the e-brake handle - may have to remove console to see well, but you can at least investigate just by pulling off leather boot. 2) If pads are seized to drum, then remove rear DS (just tcase side), back off adjusting nut a few full turns and then try to remove the drum - if the pads are seized to the drum, then it make take some force to tap (beat) it off - tap all the way around to knock it off evenly. Once inside, see what's hanging it all up - hard to say until you get in there. Bill |
