I would like to add oil and volt gauge in 96 D1 has anyone been able to fit an A-Pillar 2 gauge pod on one of these things. Summit sells them but of course no LR listing.Has anyone attempted this and how did it come out? Trying to avoid chopping up console or just hanging them somewhere on the dashboard.

I haven't done this but i've been thinking about it...some of the pods you can form with a heat gun/hair dryer. I think I have a link around here somewere...I'll check.

I was thinkig about mounting 3-way cluster in the center dash-depression, you know where that rubber tray sits.
That way easily seen, no view obstuction.

i'll be adding water temp, oil pressure and volts to mine soon.i was thinking of using the spot in the center console where the transfer case pattern sticker is,if it has enough room behind it.i'm planing on using a smiths combination water temp/oil pressure guage and a volt gauge to save space.

I want to add a tran. temp guage and water temp, oil press. I don't have sunroofs in my TReK so I was thinking about putting two up where the switches would be on the headliner plastic piece thingy... I want to try and do it this weekend, i'll post some pics if I get to it.
I'm still looking for the link to the a piller mount, ...i'll find it.

That is a great place for switches and other items. Greg P had a Garmin 176 mounted there and he did an oustanding job of it. Frank R has some Hella rotary switches up there that look nice as well.....

DirtyJim, when I had the remote controls for my Rancho 9000's, I wanted to mount the controls and guages where you mentioned. There is NO room behind that sticker, at least on a DII.

If you check the link below from this past summer you can see how I did it on my '97 using an Autometer 3 gauge panel (Mechanical Oil/Coolant + Voltmeter) in the space of that useless cupholder. This way does require temporary removal of the center console and some creative wire routing to mount but the end result blends in well. There are also some pics of other potential locations too. I have more pics and details if anyone is interested...

While we are on the subject...I had my instrument panel out a while back to change a bulb & broke my temp guage. I've tried & tried to get it working again but figure that I just need to replace it. I want to keep it in the stock location...do you think I can find an aftermarket guage...or hell any advice where can I get an LR guage? It is winter now & I'm not really concerned...I've never had a cooling problem but I really want to replace that guage before spring.
