I read one of these threads that talked about the DIIs being pre-wired for heated seats. What about the D1? That is literally the only option that my vehicle is missing and I would certainly LOVE it if I could just plug in some new switches....??

:-)

I have heard that some did and some didn't. If I remember most 94's are wired, some 95's are, few 96's and almost none for the rest of the years. If you have powerseats and no heaters, a rare combination, you more than likely have the seat heaters. Also I believe only the leather seats are heated, so if you have cloth, you probably SOL. How do you know if yours has it? If you look under the seats, on the side that closest to the center console, near the rear of the seat should be a wiring harness. Don't see it? Check again, most are tucked up inside the seat bottom. Root around, it wouldn't suprise me if they aren't in the same exact place. If you have that wire connector, it should mean you have heated seat elements. Then locate the wiring under the center console window switches. There will be 2 plugs. If you have all of that, connect the plugs that are from the heating elements to the wires going under the rugs towards the center console. Then get the switches from www.roverconnection.com or a junk yard and a new switch bezel for the window and the new heater switches. Connect all, put back together, put a fuse into the approrate spot, and enjoy a toasty behind. My 95 has the wiring in the center console, but alas no heating elements. Another way to tell is to remove the seat covers. You can get just the elements and put them in, but you have to pull those seats out and remove the covers. I decided I'd rather wear out my seats more and just replace the whole seat with ones that where heated. Check the tech section, there is write up to retro fit a elements to a non-heated switch. Most of the trucks I've seen with the heaters have power leather seats.
