Looks like Santa will be kind this year and I was interested in people's experiences. I surfed the archives and there is plenty there, but I just want to be comfortable making the order. The rig is a daily driver with weekend camping/exploring duties and some moderate wheeling. |

Can't really go wrong with the time tested OME, tons of people here run them with little to no complaints/problems. If you do go with OME, make sure you get a matched set. |

Go with OME. Great on and off-road. (Mine were DS and PS rather than matched and the setup worked great. Interestingly, the ARB guy in Seattle said to switch the rear ones and that turned out to be the right way to go. |

I'm very satisfied with the new Rovertym spring/OME shock combination. The ride is much improved over stock. The Disco feels more stable and the side-to-side pitching I used to experience is gone. My rig is also a daily driver with moderate wheeling on weekends.

Blake, Depends how much lift you're looking for. The OME HD setup is time tested and popular. I wanted 3-4 inches of lift and OME doesn't sell that with springs alone, you have to add spacer blocks too. NWP sold me springs that gave me ~4 inches of lift without spacer blocks. Seven months later the springs haven't sagged and I broke them in with a week at Moab. Use the OME shocks though, the quality is outstanding. |

What size tires look the best with the OME HD setup after completed? I am about to get that setup and was just wondering. I have the stock 16" wheels on my 2000 Disco. Do you have to add spacers to get a 2" - 3" lift out of that setup? Thanks! |

Could someone clarify the matched or unmatched springs from OME? I never quite understood why one would pick one type over the other. Thanks! |

OME sells springs in pairs where the drivers side spring is slightly taller than the passnger side spring. This is to compensate for the extra weight of the driver, steering components, etc on the DS. The theory is that while empty (no one in the rig) it'll sit high on the drivers side, but while you're in it, the vehicle will sit level. Some companies out there match the springs, ie give you two drivers side springs or two passenger side springs. Since both springs are the same height, when empty the vehicle will sit level. So the question is: do you want your rig to look level when it's sitting there in the parking lot, or level when you're driving it on the trail or down the road? Thanks, Nathan Hindman http://www.pangaea-expeditions.com |

"do you want your rig to look level when it's sitting there in the parking lot, or level when you're driving it on the trail or down the road?" This is an interesting way to frame things. Everyone whose vehicle lists toward the passenger side, run a comparison for yourself. Ask you friend to sit in the driver's seat while you look at the vehicle from behind. When your friend sits in the driver's seat, does the vehicle level out? Of course not.

Uh-oh...not this debate again What was that posted earlier about swapping the rear springs? Is that some crazy alternative to the "matched sets"? I'm picturing it as follows, and am curious as to the results: FRONT (Driver's side "high" unloaded)+ REAR (Passenger's side "high" unloaded) = "Level" appearance. Could this be correct? Andy |

We were sitting around puzzling about which was the drivers side and which the passenger side, since the springs came from Australia. We finally caalled ARB in Seattle and the guy there said to put the DS on the drivers side and the PS on the passenger side -- in the front. But in the rear to swap them. We did it and it all came out perfectly level. |

Like I said before, just get the darn matched set and forget about it. No worries about weather to put the PS spring on the DS or the PS spring on the PS or whatever silly combinations there are. |
