On a day to day basis, what do you people carry in you truck? Not when you go wheeling, but just day to day. I carry a Machete, 18" breaker bar and socket to fit the lug nuts, Craftsman tool kit (ratchets, and sockets), jumper cables, tow strap, two "D" rings, ratcheting tie downs, nylon ties, two road flares, a phone book, a tire plug kit, a heavy coat in the winter, and a bathing suit and towel in the summer. |

It took me several years to reach this point, but I carry almost nothing in my trucks during the daily commute. I even found myself without a jack to change a tire not too long ago! Long trips and off-road is a very different story. |

Same as Peter, daily almost nothing. In the event someone breaks into my car, they will get nothing. Only load up on trips. |

I carry 30ft 3in strap, 20ft 2in strap, 3 or 4 shackles, reciever shackle, and chains in a carring case. I make sure that the after work wheelin' goes OK. It seems that the moment you dont have a strap or wierd size shackle you 2feet if mud with no way out.

Jamie, I think i see a bit of room still showing... My wife loves you whole set up! (now i've got to install a winch I got her for hers, and after seeing yours her wish list is longer than mine) Thanks for getting her motivated, helps me out a LOT! And Rita says to get out here to Moab, she misses her female wheelin buddys from back home in Texas and she says shes tired of being the only woman drivin on the harder trails. (okay, if she wants me to add anything else, she's gonna have to register and post herself... ) |

Joey, that was stage I of practicing the art of preparing to run away from home! Lewis, That is really cool. That must be heaven having an "in house" trail partner!! Do the two of you get out on the trails together often? Don't worry, I will get out there for sure!! The journey is just taking a bit longer than I had anticipated. Have much to wrap up before I head that way - I'm trying to work it out so that I can stay at least a month in the west. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!! Thanks, Jamie |

Put 35,000+ (about 500 per week) on my Series II SW (1960)in the past 18 months since the rebuild. Swore I would no longer carry every damned repair option known to man. So, under the seat I have a small toolkit, with some sockets, pliers, knife, tape and flashlight. I have tire change stuff as well. The back is empty. Haven't needed any thing yet. Can anyone smell a jinx coming? Dan |
