Has anybody here mounted a LR brush bar on a DII? I'm trying to mount one and need to know where exactly to cut the openings on the bumper and what hardware besides the bolts is needed. Pictures would be great, if possible. Thanks in advance.

I just removed one from my truck, but here are some pics of my old bumper with the holes in them. Some other guy wanted to buy my bumper but couldn't see the holes so the last 2 pics have them circled.

The guy I sold the brush guard to removed the entire bumper to install the guard. I think that's the only way to do it, as you have to put those u-shaped mounts on the inside.

Removing the bumper is the only way to install the stock brush bar. The only hardware you need to install it is the mounting brackets, a set of bolts to fasten the brush bar to the mounting brackets and a set of bolts to connect the brackets to the frame.

If you don't have the mounting hardware you can get it from a LR dealership. the whole kit cost me $68 including tax. Rover Connection had it, too, and I think it was a little cheaper.

This was very helpful to me when I installed mine:

Thanks Jamil and John! You really helped me out.

I asked the dealer what I needed to mount the bar and they just sold me the bolts. I knew something was missing. I'm glad you told me about removing the bumper. Thanks again.

Jamil, Great looking Landy! Whats the light below your CMSL? And how do you like the seat covers? I got a set when I bought my TReK but haven't ever put them on yet. i like the look of my black seats with the orange piping and blue center panels but my dogs go with me and after my pug tossed his cookies on them today I think i'll get them on soon.
:-)
Thanks,
Lewis

Thanks Lewis,
However my truck looks like this now:

What's a CMSL? About that light. My cop friend gave it to me. It's a really bright amber flashing LED light. I installed a pushbutton to the right of the mirror controls. It will be perfect for when I breakdown or when I need to help someone else. So far I have used it for getting people to stop tailgating me.

As for the seat covers...I took the drivers seat cover off a few weeks ago and put it right back on. The tan leather is all faded and ugly, and I didn't like how it was all slippery. The cover gives your clothes some grip. (kinda like suede seats in a sports car) And when you spill and get them muddy, all it takes is some windex spray and a rag. The only drawback is that in the 2nd row you can hear them swishing around due to movement. Not a big deal though.

I made a new friend over at my local dealership and got a hold of the LR manual for installing either the A-bar or full bar. I've posted the manual at:

Thanks,
Lewis
