I have a friend at work who has a 1998 Disco with a 2 inch lift and mild offroad use. When his Rovers is parked you can look at the back and see a sight list to the passengers side. The distance between the top of the driver's rear tire and the wheel well is about an inch and a half greater than the passenger's. On a quick inspection I cannot see any obvious damage to the suspention and the truck handles fine. What is the scoop? |

My D2 is off in the rear by about .5" This can be due to the simple unscientific nature of truck modifications. Or the springs could be slightly different in strength. Or the truck is not evenly loaded inside. Maybe one spring is not properly seated inside the spring retainer. Perhaps the front springs are on the left and the rear springs are on the right side. I have very limited experience in all this, but that's my take on it. |

Check out www.expeditionexchange.com for info about why Discovery's lean. Basically the springs on the passenger side are ever so slightly weaker. The idea being that the vehicle will sit even with a driver only. |

I think the springs are rated the same, it's just that the driver side is about .5" higher. With the same hight springs, eventually the driver side would sit lower. At least thats what I always thought. |

We have the same lift, a SG stage 2. However, mine is older and does not list. The list is definately more than 0.5" |

Ususally the cause of list in suspension is the causal effect of gravity on an imbalanced truck. In effect, if the truck is on a hill this might happen. If it happens on a flat surface with little or no tilt then the springs are not properly balanced.
Seriously, have him get some spring spacers. Try www.expeditionexchange.com and look under OME. -Curtis |

OK - While being a smartass, I ended up a dumbass. they are actually called Trim Packers and here is the specific link: https://www.expeditionexchange.com/ome/indexsprings.htm |

the springs are in backwards! the driver side spring must be swap to the passanger side and vise versa! the longer of the springs go on the drivers side! i had the same problem with our rover and once i change the springs around the list was gone. |

My Jeep TJ (and the TJ I owned before this one) sat lower at the rear pass. side. My understanding is this corner gets more axle wrap under throttle and just gets broke in faster than the other side. These were aftermarket springs (Rubicon Express) You can just swap the left rear for right rear or add the EE Trim Packers to even 'em up. They are okay to leave 'em like they are now, other than the looks. |

I think they all lean. My '95 did, and so does my '02. I also was told that the assumption is that the truck will sit straight with the driver seated. |

If you don't get matched springs from John at EE, the drivers side spring is longer from OME. Mine seemed to get worse over time, and I switched damn near everything. I finally just switched the right to left, and no more problems. |
