Well, since I've installed my 9.00x16 XZL's, I've been throwing several codes. Mainly, they've been for my 4th gear ratio, which is common for vehicles equipped with oversized tires. Everything is performing fine, so I'm not worried about those codes. However, when I was clearing my codes yesterday, a new one was present and I can't find reference to it anywhere. It's P0562. I've searched several Rover forums, as well as sites that list Rover codes, and it doesn't appear anywhere. Anyone have an idea as to what it refers to? I also had code P0174 "Multiplication injector adaptive fuelling - rich limit exceeded RH bank". Could this be caused by a plug not firing completely, or should I look for something else? |

Well, I used to think that my Rover was a substitute for therapy. But now I'm beginning to think that it may be a cause for going to therapy! When I was shopping for tires to replace my bias Swampers, I wanted XZL's but couldn't find 8.25's anywhere. So, I went with the 35" SSR's, which required some trimming (Remember, I originally had some 9x16 XL's, but chickened out because I didn't want to have to trim!). Anyway, I recently had a chance at a set of the 9x16 XZL's, and since I had already trimmed, I figured it would be worth it. |

A 562 won't set a check engine light, but was probably a result of replacing the battery. The combination of adaptation codes and 4th gear codes is probably a faulty mass air flow sensor, more than a result of tire size change. You may want to check that the o-ring that is supposed to be on the air filter lid to the MAF is intact. Missing o-rings will allow a lot of debris to get on to the sensor, thus affecting it's performance. I look for a film on the screen leading in to the sensor. I mangaged to fix one by cleaning it, but the sensor is relatively inexpensive. |

Thanks Trevor. Much appreciated. By the way, I replaced the battery about six weeks ago, yet the code just appeared this week. |
