My 96 never seems to get too warm. No matter how long I drive it, the temp gauge barely gets off the C mark and the heater just blows fairly warm air. I thought that maybe my thermostat was stuck open, but even if that was the case wouldn't it get warmed up eventually? I flushed the coolant last week, but it didn't seem to help any. Any Ideas? Thanks |

Start with a new thermostat. It is not expensive. I had the exact same symptoms last December, and new thermostat was the fix! If this does not solve it, see if your mechanic can verify the actual coolant temperature in rad and hoses. There are laser temperature readers that can determine that quickly...

Mark, David is correct....the Thermostat is bad. If you have a thermostat stuck in the open position the vehicle will never get hot. Just not pysically possible, unless you are in 120 deg temps outside. |

Mark, if a new thermostat doesn't work, you might want to go to one of those quick lube places and have them do a reverse flush on your cooling system. This will flush out all that crap that is stuck in the heater core. |
