My 95 disco won't shift into Low and I took apart the consul (SP), cut back the boot to get into the transfer case from the top. I disconnected the lingage that the shifts from high to low and found that the shifter moved easily, it seems the bar comming from it wont budge, so its not the shifter itself. Anyone have any ideas? |

Since you already have the console out, drill out the rivets that hold the shift mech in place so you can get complete access to the top of the t-case, then remove the solinoid on the top of the t-case and see if its working. |

Thanks Dave Quick question, I had my brake switch go bad on the trail and had to fix it by cutting the pin in the shifter thats attached to the solenoid (since I couldn't get the thing out of park). I am not sure I hooked it up again, or if by disabling it, what effect it had. Do you know if that switch has to read neutral before I can switch to Low? I have a sneaking suspicion that the two may be related.
