I was driving my 98' tonight at around 60-65 mph and it seemed like the transmission just popped out of gear, when I stepped on the gas the engine just reved. Once I slowed down to about 50 mph, it popped back in and was find afterwards. Both times when it popped, I felt a serious jerk. Any ideas? Does it sound terminal? |

I would check and make sure the CDL is fully engaged. Just check usually if that is the case you will hear a chime until it is out of neutral. |

I did have it engaged earlier this morning for the snow. I'll check it out. Thanks. |

Dean, what are you telling him? To have his CDL engaged on the street? |

Engaged vs Locked. If not engaged, you won't move at all (CDL in neutral). |

Check the high low and make sure it is all the way back into high. The other things I can think of are quite unpleasant

I went through all the gears again on the transfer and haven't had any more problems. That was the first time anything weird has happened, no slipping and has always shifted through the gears smoothly for the automatic and still is. |

Forget about it, you're OK. Sometimes mine would do this after moving the CDL lever between low and high. I would fail to move it all the way back to the high position, and it would slip into neutral. |
