Scott,

Can you Post some pictures, all angles. I am about to do the same but I have the springs for 2" option or 3". Can't decide which, I am a bit worried about all the talk of Rotoflex vibes. My vehicle has a year to run on the warrantee!

Cheers

jeremy,

DII's seem to take lifts better than DI's...sooner or later, your roto will wear out, but vibes are not so much an issue at 3" as they are with a DI. i have 4" in my DII and a great basins rear driveshaft and have no vibe issues at all. i had 3" in with the roto and no problems. no guarentee regarding your truck, but 3" on a DII is pretty reasonable.

scott, congrats! i agree...if i knew how much better the truck would perform lifted, i would have done it on day one. what part of texas are you in?

Mike,

Thanks for that input. As I already have all the springs / shocks / spacers + brake and ABS extensions, I think I will bite the bullet and go for the 3" lift straight off.

Cheers

Jeremy

Mike, live in Allen. Lewis, just changed the profile. Thanks again I will try and post pics soon. Next step is other mods and then 3" lift, should have done it now but was not sure how the Rover reacts to lifts. The wife even likes.

Hey Scott, I'll be in Dallas in Feb. You want to hook up and go wheelin at Gilmer? I have a house there that i've got to get ready to sell (or rent) and i'll be there most of the month. There will be some others from Texas Rovers that will go, too. You'll meet some good people and have a great time. It's a family thing, so bring the wife and dogs ,if you have some (dogs that is).
If you've never been to Gilmer, its got easy to kinda hard stuff. The hard stuff like DeWoody is only hard because the dirts loose. It's a pretty part of the state and there are a lot of nice bed&breakfast places if you want to make a weekend out of it. Its a state off road park so it's real clean and there is no drunk people wheelin (except the night runs:-) )
Come on....it'll be fun!
Lewis

congrats on the new lift! my dad just ordered medium hd rear and medium front springs and shocks for our d1 from expedition exchange. We're running it on stock tires, but for future reference, i was wondering what kind of bigger tires can i fit on them without having to put any addition lift into it? and something that would make it a nice stable drive almost like it is when stock like on the freeway, etc. Thanks!

Kevin, look in the tech section under tires/wheels, it gives sizes there. 235/70 is stock 245/75 is taller and a little wider, 235/85 is taller than 245 but narrower if I remember correctly I did not look.

Scott, CONGRATULATIONS!!! :-) :-) :-) :-)

Lewis, Texas? The entire month? Off Roading Too?? Hmmm... I wonder how many days it would take for us to drive there?? Gosh, I'd love to meet you and your wife :-), see Texas, and go off roading. Besides that, I could personally deliver a fork tool to you! :-)

Seriously, email info on your trip when you get a chance. Thanks, Jamie

I did the 3" a couple of months back on my 2000 DII and am just now noticing a few vibrations between 40 and 50 mph. As I'm calling around looking doing some more upgrading (new drive shafts, true track in the front diff, detroit in the rear diff, 4.11 gears, etc) I'm being told that at 70,000 miles that I'm on borrowed time with my front drive shaft. Needless to say it's got me a little worried at this point. It's funny you guys mention Gilmer (aka Barnwell). It's after my trip to Gilmer that I noticed the vibes.

And yes, I agree, Gilmer is as neat of an off road area as there is. It's like Sturgis for us Land Rover Owners.

Jamie - Check the Texas Rovers web site every once in a while to see when and where our outings are. We'd love to have you join us when you get the urge to come out this way.
