In all of the rotoflex replacement and centering peg problem posts, I've never seen any mention of the seal in the end of the driveshaft that fits over the centering peg. Do people typically replace it? Mine is destroyed, got a new one and will replace it, just curious if others have as well or if this is relatively unknown. joe |

its not a seal its a pilot bushing. and yes you need to replace it if you want the new roto-flex to last at all. it can be a real bitch to get out. I have had luck cutting a slot into it to relieve the tension and then it pops right out.

Joe, take an air chisel and it will only take you about 30 seconds, if you dont have one take the shaft out and go to a mechanic and they can do it (that is what I did). Dont let the shaft slip out of the splines as I did, it is damn near impossible to get back on due to the tight fit and the grease not wanting to move. I could not get my shaft to slide freely on the splines after I put it on which made moving it around to get it on the centering peg a "big ass hammer" job. Matt |
