I like this model. Still appears to sell used for a lot more than I'd ever pay.

What's the cheapest anyone has ever seen one of these go for? I'm not talking wrecked either.

Check on Ebay. Depending on mileage and condition it varies alot. Haven't checked in a while, but I have seen some decent ones in the $8,500-$9,500 range. Check out LRX.com too.

Here are a couple I found on ebay:

Alan,
I like your '96. Exactly what I would like to do to an RR. And take it on all the trails.

thanks for the links.

Thanks Kristopher,

There seems to quite a bit of interest in the P38 style Range Rover lately as prices are coming down. Check out the range rover forum on this site. Be aware that P38's of this vintage will have EAS problems sooner or later, my advise to all potential P38 owners that want to go off-road is to ditch the EAS and convert to coils when EAS problems arise and you are out of warranty, other than that the P38 is a very solid car and awsome off-road. The EAS is cool but not cool when it drops to the bumpstops out on the trail, I didn't want to spend hours on the trail repairing the EAS, plus I am probably too incompetent to fix it anyway. This is what I did to my 96 RR and highy recommend it:
