I was installing an aftermarket deck (Clarion 7770, pre-outs only-no amp) and may have fried the stock amp on my 95. Checked fuses under the steering column and under the hood and all seem fine... Is there any way to test the amp? TIA |

There is a fuse on the stock amp also - did you check it? Bill |

Hi: I would bypass the amp and install an aftermarket amp as the clarity and sound will be much better. Rewiring at the amp is pretty easy. If you do a search here, you will find all the info you need. Thanks |

Jerry, looks like that's going to be the answer. I got everything to work today but couldn't eliminate the line noise. I used a pair of ground loop isolators and that got rid of the noise. However, it also got rid of the sound on the right channel. Crappy LR amp only grounds to the left channel. Anyone had any success with this? |

Hi: You should have all the wires there for positive and negative hookups for the front and rear and left and right. I will see if I can find the wiring colors but just make sure that you are using the correct wires as it sounds like you maybe using the input wires that go from the deck to the factory amp. If you are in a hurry then just remove each speaker to check the wire colors. Here is a quick tip on how to determine the correct polarity (+/-) wires. Use a 9 volt battery and connect one pair of speaker wires to the negative side of the battery and connect one pair of wires to the positive side of the battery. If the speaker cone moves forward then the wires for positive and negative are correct. If the speaker cone moves inward then it is incorrect and you simply need to swap the wires. Let me know how this works out...
