I am looking to rip out the airbag setup in my 94 NAS Disco and I have seen several Discos outside the US that do not have an airbag in front of the passanger but a "Oh-Shit" bar and a little bucket or sorts similar to older RRC's.

I am hoping there is another Disco owner outside the US that might be able to find the parts and ship them to me... I am assuming it would be the "Oh-Shit" bar, the bucket, and any trim pieces required...

I would certainly pay well for this so if you can help me please email me. Thanks...

ok I have looked for what you want. It seems that first of all you need to change all the Facia assembly. It looks that is a hard modification, that will cost you a lot of time and money. Althought if you still want to do it it is better to find a "scrapped" disco and buy it. It will cost you more cheaper in money.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the help on the parts... How much do you think it would costs? I could not imagine it being more than 4 or 5 parts to replace...

Does anyone know the real name for this? I am assuming it coudl be refered to as a "grab bar" but am not sure...

the name according to the part catalogue is:
Handle assembly-grab.
the part No for this one is:
BTR3896LOY for the Dark Granite and
BTR3896SUC for the Bahama Beige

the facia has also 8 Part No's (4LHD 4RHD)
for the 4LHD there are 2 beige and 2 Granite .
for each 2 there are 1 with passenger airbag and 1 without passenger airbag.

Let me know if you need further info

Gerard, could you check on these parts for me at a local deal maybe when you get some time? I would be happy to compensate you for the time...

Hi Jason
I checked with a friend at LR Cardiff this morning and he said what you want to do is easy enough but you will need to disarm the air bag firing from the computor.
The grab handles are £45 & £57 depending on colour(Dont know why) As for prices on the actual facia he needs a part # as there are several different types of facia and they ain't cheap.
You would be better off getting one from a breakers yard to suit your vehicles year/ model.
He also quiried if doing this wouldn't invalidate your insurance, it would in the UK.
I think you would be able to buy a complete dash from some one stripping a Disco in the UK for less than £200.
If i can be of further assistance feel free to e mail any time.
cheers
