I have a 95 D1 with 81,000K. Since I bought it (earlier this year) the cruise control has never worked. The light goes on when you hit the switch but when you hit the button to set the speed nothing happens. Before I begin the testing procedures I found in another post, I would like to know if I should hear a relay open (a click) when I hit the switch to turn on the cruise control on. Right now I do not hear anything. I'm thinking that it's the cruise ECU. |

Check the vacuum hoses that operate the actuator. I don't ever recall hearing a relay trip upon hitting the button, but I did have a split on the bottom side of one of the hoses and the thing just does not work with no supplied vacuum. |

On the 94 I had if I wiggled the set button, it would eventually set. I know that isn't very technical but it it worked every time after the 3rd ir 4th attempt. It was one of those character builders of the Rover. -Jim |

Thanks for the answers. I'll run the hoses for the actuator. But first I'll try the wiggle method. |
