I would like to order the DVD's before the special ends. I have a stupid technical question:

I followed the link and my home DVD player is DVD-R is listed as compatible. So I'm ok there.

I'm wondering if DVD-R's will also play on computers? If anyone can answer that, please do - you'll save me several hours of trying to figure out if mine can play them - sometimes my computer and I don't get along very well.

I am running XP Pro if that is of any help? I tried asking it if I could play DVD-R's and it directed me to the windows media player. I clicked on that and it said it was missing shortcuts to the media player. I'm sure this is probably my fault b/c I got tired of all the "clutter" from things I didn't know what they were on my desktop and start menu - so I deleted all that stuff. To the best of my knowledge I did not delete any program files - I always check the contents of my recycle bin before emptying it and there have never been program files in it.

Thanks, Jamie

I take that back, I just remembered that there is a way that I may have accidently deleted program files.

I have a laptop, not a desktop - and several months ago I vacumned the keyboard while my computer was on. I didn't look at my laptop when I finished vacumning and it turned itself off and went to sleep while I was doing something else. The next time I turned it on and tried to use it, most all of my files were gone. That time, I found all the files in the recycle bin and restored them (then I went on a search for my missing backspace arrow key and found it by cutting open the vacumn cleaner bag)

In any case, if I did accidentally delete any of the program files - I have all the disks, so I'm pretty sure I can reload them if necessary.

Thanks again, Jamie

Sorry, but that's quite funny. Next time I'm asked to "clean up" a PC at work, I'll whip out the Dustbuster :-)

Please don't try vacuuming the Disco fan with the engine running.

Oh, and DVD-Rs will play on your computer if you have a DVD drive and DVD player software.

Thanks Steve,

I didn't use a dustbuster:-(. Oh no... I went and vacumned it with my Hoover Wind Tunnel and it's attachments. The suction from my mean vacumn cleaner is so strong that it pulls the goofy vacumn cleaner over most of the time (ouch!).

I was quite proud of myself for my inventiveness -- I really thought I had a good idea going on because it did a spectacular job of pulling all the crumbs and stuff out from under the keys. DUH...

Cool, I'll order the DVD's right now. :-) :-)

Thanks!! Jamie

It happens. You should be able to restore the files by putting the vacuum cleaner in reverse........ :-) :-)

Seriously though, the DVD's are created on a PC, so as long as you have a DVD drive capable of playing 4.7 GB DVD-R, and the appropriate playback software (which usually comes with the drive), you should be able to play them just fine.

Just don't use your vacuum cleaner to clean the DVD's, you might suck the movies right off.... :-)

(Sorry, couldn't resist...)

Awesome, I can take them with me and I will watch them on my computer! :-) :-)

Gosh, my poor computer -- there are times when I feel sorry for it. Firewalls don't seem to do much to protect it physically.

Sometimes, I hook it up to external keyboard & mouse at my desk. Unfortunately, the favorite food of my shredder appears to be mouse cords. I moved the blasted shredder it after it ate it's second mouse cord.

Well darn, that reminds me - I saved both of my gnawed up and mangled mice to give to my brother and law as silly Christmas gifts. I totally forgot about them. I guess I'll save them for his birthday? He owns and runs an ISP - so he'll get a kick out of them.

When I saw him on Christmas Day, I did remember to ask him 2 big questions:

1) WHERE is the internet? :-)

2) How did Al Gore invent the internet? :-) :-)

Thanks, Jamie

1. It was originally in Flint, Michigan. Now it is being carried around by a swallow. A European swallow, not an african swallow, because african swallows are non-migratory.

2. It came to him when he was hitchiking through Switzerland. One night he was on his back in a field, drunk, and looking at the stars. No, never mind, don't panic, that was Douglas Adams. He and Al Gore went to separate schools together as kids.

3. Oh no, not again!
