hello guys, new here. I have a 99 Disco, I was cleaning the battery and now my radio says code I believe. As usual I can't find the manual to see how to reset this. Any ideas. thanks Andel |

Take your VIN to a LR dealership to get the code. I believe they can help you. |

Yep - that's what I did as well - when you disconnect the battery it will reset the radio and require the security code to be entered again Jeff |

Similar thing happened to my truck when I disconnected the battery to change the serpentine belt. Called LR road assistance. They needed a copy of my registration and license much easier for me to fax it to them than go to the dealer as I got all this done from home. Got the code within minutes and had the radio back on. |

Its odd - I take out the radio once, completely disconnected it, and I've undone the battery on multiple occasions, and it never complains or asks me for a code! (2001 D2 SD) |

You can also enable or disable the need for the security code. RTFM for details |

On the 2000 on up d2 they got rid of the code Dean. I wanted my code also (just in case) but the dealer told me I didn't need it. |

There should be a few cards in the owners manual, if you still have it, with the radio code printed on it if you want to avoid a trip to the dealer... |

My 2001 D2 has the code request!!! I'm always working on mine and got fed up with the proceedure to enter it so I disabled it. I have the mid range (Phillips) unit so maybe its a US/Europe thing or specific units |
