My 98 Disco1 started bogging down to the point of stalling the other nite. Then when I tried to restart, the starter would not kick in when the key turned to start position. After a couple tries, it would start normally. The mechanics shotgun treatment was to replace starter which did not help with ignition problem. When key turned to start and held there, nothing happens for 5 seconds, and then it turns over and starts normally. Incidentally, the bogging down issue was never seen by the mechanic or me since the first time when it happened repeatedly. Any ideas on the faulty ignition? Seems to me its between the starter and key but don't know where to start???TIA for any responses. |
