As a public servant I just helped someone changed their tyre on the side of the road. I then made me think about changing the tyre on my 96 disco 1. for the hell of it I went to one of the wheels and noticed that the lug nuts are plastic. i am assuming that they are the anti theft lug nuts. how do I get the plastic off to see if there is a lug nut underneath or something more complicated? |

Do you have a pic? My 96 has extremely large lug nuts, but there not plastic. Are you using the original aluminum wheels? My lug nuts are also very deep to reach down into to recesses and engage the studs. I don't think a regular lug nut would work. Only when I use my steel wheels can I use regular lug nuts. |

Do not remove the plastic from the lug nuts. They are made like that. Just fit your lug wrench over the nuts and turn. Cheers!
