Darryll,

There is a thread going on in the general section that has some input on it. Here's the link: ../27/38909.html"http://www.valcoelectronics.com" target="_blank">www.valcoelectronics.com at the recommendation of another discoweb user. They have consistently had the lowest prices on all electronics and have great customer service.

Good Luck, Jamie

Jamie you beat me to it.:-) That's my thread, and I'll let you know what I think about it. That's if I get it this week! From what I've heard, it's a great CB.

What did you do to your's Jamie? Did it get wet when you went swimming in one of those HUGE mud holes with your very nice D2? That's a cool setup.:-)

Thanks Matthew,

I don't know what I did to it. I didn't get wet. I really think the CB is fine, the problem is probably with my antenna. I have found my antenna to be a great tool for measuring water depth, mud density, and mixing stuff.

I should probably hook up my meter to my CB again and see if I only need to re-tune the antenna. It just hasn't been a big priority for me - radios in my vehicle annoy me as much as telephones do at home.

I do need to get it fixed though, the last partial bit of conversation I heard on the trail was on the way out from the trails and the guys were talking about my "s___ radio set up". Lost reception so I didn't hear the rest of the conversation. Oh, well...

I'm glad you will let me know what you think when you get yours hooked up. If I remember correctly, you are going to use a Wilson antenna with it?

yup, that's correct. Heidi at Bill's CB said the Wilson "Little Wil" would be the best. I ordered 2 of the cobras, and 2 of the wilson antennas. So far I have recieved 4 antennas, and no CB's. My orders always get messed up. I was hoping to install the CB myself before I have to go back to school, oh well.

5{u please expand upon "I should probably hook up my meter to my CB again and see if I only need to re-tune the antenna." ???

I am curious as to how I would tune my CB. I have always wondered but never figured out how. Thank you.

The meter she is talking about is an SWR meter. You connect this meter to your antenna, and CB. You want the SWR readings to be the same on channels 1 and 40. You can tune your antenna by lengthening or shortening it.

Here is a good link. http://www.firestik.com/tech_docs/tunable.htm
