After replacing the motors on the washer fluid reservoir this weekend, I noticed a wire with a blue connector behind the washer fluid bottle. I don’t recall removing it from its proper place so I’m wondering if it was disconnected to start with. I’ve looked around the engine bay near the washer bottle and can’t locate a place for it to connect. Does anyone have an idea of where this guy goes? I’ve attached a picture of the mystery wire.

Thanks!

Hi
Not sure but do you have headlamp washers?
If not then this is probably the feed for the pump, this sits next to the existing one.

That's the strange part, Peter. I've already accounted for and connected the headlamp washers and front and rear windscreen washers. This came out as some kind of extra :0

Maybe there is some other option on a 95' that I don't have.

Well I'll be taking mine apart sometime soon, and have not removed or disconnected any wire. Let you know if I see blue wire that looks like in the pic!

I can't find anything like that on my 97. I have a Land Rover Workshop Manual from 95-98, and it doesn't show any plug like that.

This is wayyyyy bizarre. I’ve looked all over the washer tank side of the engine bay and I can’t find any place for this thing to plug in. It must be an option I don’t have or maybe it’s part of the setup for right hand drive. I’m going to put my washer tank back in and hope it’s not important.

That wire goes to your turbo boost. What happened to wheeling this weekend?

Turbo boost? Damn, I knew I was missing something.

I was waiting for someone to call me to go wheeling and the call never came. I was ready to go, waiting by the phone, truck running in the driveway.

I could be wrong but I think it plugs into your a/c line. Check out the underside of the smaller diameter tube.

John thanks for the suggestion. I thought that might have been the solution but the connector you’re talking about is plugged in and accounted for. This is a real mystery to me. I assume it’s for some connector that isn’t used in my Disco configuration. I need a few oil change parts from the dealer so I’ll ask the service guys there. Maybe they’ll know.

Problem solved. It appears the plug is for a TDI model. Another one of those components that Disco’s on both sides of “the pond” have in common. Thank you to everyone that gave their two cents worth.
