I'm soon to install the TJM T15 bullbar + winchmount + XD9000 onto my Disco II.

Are there any install tips you people out there can pass on.....to save me asking lots of silly question later!!

Cheers

Jeremy,

I don't have any install tips, but - if you don't mind, I would like to ask you to check something out for me when you finish your install.

Since install of mine, my trailer light turn signal indicators on the instrument panel flash whenever I put on my turn signals. I should add that I don't have a trailer. I forget why that happens, but it's ok whatever the reason is, and they don't bother me.

I've got something else funky on my instrument panel. There is no more (night) lighting up the odometer/trip recorder/gear indicator. The last time I remember it working ABSOLUTELY FOR SURE was last spring when I was using it to record distance between 2 fixed points. That was before my TJM was installed.

For all I know, losing that light may have been part of what "just happens" when TJM is installed.

If you think of it, will you please send me an email after you install yours and let me know if your light still works on your odometer?

Thanks, Jamie

Jamie,

The following FAQ entry at disco2.com may be helpful for you (re: flashing trailer lights):

jamie,

the install instructions that came with the bumper mention the problem with the trailer light and provide a diagram for wiring a relay into the light circuit to eliminate it.

jeremy,
the bumper and winch tray is very easy to install. It requires 2 people; one to hold the bumper while the other tightens the bolts. I haven't installed a winch yet, so I don't know of any potential problems.

Jamie,

It will take me a few weeks before I install the bumper but I will let you know what I sort out for the lights.

I do wish that TJM had sorted out some way of keeping the original fog lamps tucked up under the bumper instead of those extra turn indicators.......I'm not sure I really want those there at all.

I would still like to hear from anyone who has installed the TJM winch plate.

Cheers & a very happy new year to you all

Jamie,

Could you post a close-up photo of your Warn winch solenoid pack as mounted to your TJM bumper.

Thanks

Jeremy,

I'll be happy to. I'm heading out that way right now to work on a few things. I'll snap a close-up and post it before I start working.

Jeremy,

I have SuperWinch, not Warn. Here are pics that show how mine is mounted. As you will see, I tried to be creative so that you can see the angles, wires, and where the controller plugs in.

The way it is mounted, I have to be very careful plugging the controller onto the solenoid because there is not an abundance of space between it and the upper horizontal bar on bumpper.

I tied it open with surveyors tape so you can see how it looks when it is held open to plug in the controller.

Good Luck with your install, Jamie

Help!!

Can someone take a look at the picture attached. Is this a TJM winch plate for a Series II Discovery?

I've got a nasty feeling I've been sent the wrong item! Also got no install instructions for the plate. It looks very odd to me, I was expecting something similar to the Bearmach product?

Cheers
