Hi All - I did a search on this topic because I could of sworn someone asked this a while back - does anyone know of a source for long range tanks for a D1 ? I know the defender/series folks can do the modification to add an additional tank (under the drivers side front) - but I haven't seen anything for long range disco tanks - short of carrying lots of jerry's Jeff |

Jeff, I recall the same thread, and as I recall the problem with aux tanks was that they are made for diesel but not gas. Apparently the volitility of the gasoline makes the use of fuel cells a must. There is a company in Australia called Opposite Lock that makes 110 litre tanks that replace the original, as well as other auxiliary tanks. The URL for the product listings is: http://www.oppositelock.com/product.asp?Page=2&dxdeptid=6&cxcatid=47 There are several other companies, and I think one of the suggestions was to visit a racing equipment shop where they would sell fuel cells that could be added to the factory capacity. Hope this helps. Victor |

Jeff, MikeyB is determined to put some kind of range extender on his. I know he has done much research on this and is continuing to figure out a feasable solution. He should be back on DiscoWeb in about a week(?) I'm sure he'd be willing to share what he has learned with you. Good Luck, Jamie |

Long Ranger in Australia make 120L with swaybar and 136 L if you ditch the sway bar as well as a 50L aux tank. ARB sell them here in OZ. Cost is about $700 OZ each. |
