Well i bought my tires and had them installed and am going to order my shocks and springs from EE tomorrow.
Now I am looking into roof racks, I did a search on this topic but didn't find anything. I have heard the adventure racks are nice, but what is the difference between the sport and off-road adventure racks, I noticed the sport has a more "aerodymanic" tilt to the fron of it, but that is all I can see.
I am wanting a rack the will hold the weight of a spare, hi-lift, and gear (nothing overly heavy just camping stuff, etc.). I am also wanting to add 4 hellas to the fron of the rack and at leat one to the rear. I saw the NWP racks, but I have heard that those aren't built to well from some of the other posts I read. Is this correct?
Thanks!

the sport gives you about 10HP and helps your high speed stability. The offroad is just opposite robbing you of any incrased performance expectations, but its good at carrying your stuff

Jordan - I've been looking at the NWP racks - from the pictures they look really well made - does anyone have any other opinion ?

Wow, I could really use that 10HP gain of the sport! Maybe if I put some "import tuner" stickers on the rack, it will help my rover handle better too... :-)

ANYWAY, lol, to me, the NWP's look well made too, just in a few posts I read, people were saying there welds were pretty crappy and wouldn't hold too much weight. any other opinions would help me out as well, Thanks!

Jordan,

Before you start planning what you will carry on a roof rack, you might want to check your owner's manual to see the specs on weight. Don't hold me to this - I don't feel like looking it up, but I think mine says 120# MAX above the gutter line. Depending where you might go, this could be a significant issue.

You also might want to do a bit of research and get some opinions about "windsheild wash" that can occur from forward facing roof rack lights. I have read a few posts with good solutions to this potential problem. I have heard that the wash can cause driving/eye fatigue quickly. Someone posted some pics recently that showed a good visual of windsheild wash before and after their solution. Was it Jamil? Maybe someone can remember?

In any case, John Lee at EE knows alot about the Hella's. He really helped me to decide what lighting was best for my use. I'm crazy about the rear double hella install as shown on EE website. That set-up makes things easy for me at night since the light is in a good place and I can adjust the direction of it. Make sure you get 2 wiring harnesses (I think that is what you need), then you have the option of turning on either side separately (to conserve power) or have both sides of the light on at the same time (VERY bright!).

Personlly, I'm partial to the adventure roof rack. It is very strong and well made.

All stickers contribute to better rover handling. EE's stickers rock!! They've really got it going on!! :-)

Good Luck, Jamie
