Anyone remove the windshield wiper fluid reservior from their Disco I. Just bought my used 98 Disco (love it) and spending this weekend to get to know my new toy e.g. oil change, replace burnt-out tail lamp bulbs...... Anyway, filled-up the wiper fluid reservior this morning, and noticed leak coming driver side. I removed the two bolts on top connecting the plastic reservious to the firewall, and removed one of the bottom bolt and the other bottom is stuck/stripped. Probably will end up cutting it. Any other bolts holding it down that I need to be aware? If I cut the stuck bottom, is the reservoir going to come off? Is there is trick to this? I used search and only found problems related to fluid leak check valve. Wanted find out where the leak is coming from. I'm waiting to get my Disco technical manual from Ebay. In the meantime, thanks and appreciate in advance your feedback! |

Ron, you'll have to drill it out - mine did the same thing. You can get to it from inside the wheel well. After that, it slides right out. |

Thanks Jay! I'll proceed with the drill out! By the way, where was the leak in your case. I am hoping it's a disconnected hose or small leak I can easily patch up. It's almost noon and time for lunch. I'll drill it out next weekend! Thanks again! Ron |

Ron, When I went searching for my wiper reservoir leak I found that the two check valves on the outbound pressure feeds to the front and rear windows were clogged and leaking. A blowout of both stopped the leak for several months, but eventually I had to tape them "closed" till I could get replacements. |

My leak was one of those check valves right behind the tank. Had to get a new valve. |

My water bottle has been leaking for ever so took it out today. Same problem as everybody else, had to drill it out. Now will just change the check valves and run new piping to the headlight washers. Thanks for the info, I glad I new before hand that I might have to drill instead of getting mad and breaking something. |
