Just had all new brakes and rotors installed by the dealer on my DII. Got it home last night and today, came out to a big stain on the right rear. Fluid smeels like gear oil (diff?) but is all over inner wheel and undercarriage. Any ideas what might have blown after the dealer install???? |

Chris, Yes, you are leaking gear oil. Open fill hole and check fluid level. To avoid further wear/damage, you may have to add some Mobil-1 before returning to Dealer. Recently had exact problem after right rear ABS sensor was replaced under warranty. ABS sensor (and the rubber line going into back of wheel hub) is all one assembly. The LR tech had installed a new hub assembly... and neglected to check if new unit came with an O-ring. If all your Dealer did was replace brakes and rotors, they must have used a sledge hammer to remove your r/r rotor. Out of warranty or not, the repair is on them. -Barry |

Hose it off. If its brake fluid it will dissolve (before the paint does hopefully) if its gear oil it will stay. Bazzle |
