Okay, by the looks of this picture I have accidentaly modified a tie rod.
So how do I fix it? Can I remove it without jacking the front end off the ground? Is it safe to put it in the vise and do my best to straighten it? Brendan

always breaking stuff eh? Hey I can't help you here, but a word of advise. Move your limb risors over a few inches closer to each other, they are too far apart. |

If you went with me yesterday, you too could have broken something! The limb risers came in handy several times yesterday. I have to stop wheeling in my XD, it's too nice to tear up. Still looking for any tips. I would like to tackle this tonight if it's an easy fix. B.K. |

You can straighten it, but it will never have much more than half the strength it had before you bent it. Some people bend them straight and weld an angle iron on to get the strength back. A big angle iron and it will be stronger than before, but of course a stronger tie bar might simply result in a more expensive part broken elsewhere in the chain. Tie rods are the weak link, and they are the least costly front part to swap. Myself, I'd toss it and get a new one. |

Just get something like the Rovertym HD set up. I'm sure Steve would sell you the rear link only, if you don't want to spend all that money. You would also need the Steering damper relocator.
