I am going in for my LAST warranty service call!!! It is in to fix the windshield defrosters. Do you guys recommend anything I should ask to check out to get in my last chance?? Mechanically my 2000 D2 seems great. It has only 35000miles!

thanks for your help,

Radiator and idler pulley should be checked. I had both replaced, radiator at 36k, and two idler pulleys so far. Both are common problems for the D2.

You have an intermitant vibe from the front of the vehicle. Happens at highway speed. You just had your wheels balance and that was not it. It seems to be getting worse. You also have some rust orange spots on the front d/s u-joints.

You see a slight bit of orange coolant from you top radiator hose at the seam, also on the radiator where the plastic meets the metal.

push for a valve job even if you don't need it - while it is on their dime.

Ron - what do you mean by popping? My sunroof makes a "popping" sound if I hold the open or close too long (after the sunroof completely opens or closes). Is that what you mean? Is there anything wrong with that besides the annoying sound?

oh, and watch out for what the say about the tictic sound. When I first mentioned it, they said "oh thats nothing, the nature of the beast, ha ha ha..."

then later, a parts clerk said that indeed, its a big problem, rover has steel to alum in the rockers, and over time, it tends to go.

when i said exactly that to the service manager, he knew he had to fix it.

Everyone,
Thanks for the advice. I am fortunate enough to have a great dealer! I informed them on my soon expiring warranty. They are fixing my rear sunroof, new oil seals on valve covers, new front windshield (electric defrosters out). He informed me they are going over it thoroughly.

I told them take their time. I have a black 2004 D2 "trail edition" Very Nice!!! I noticed it has the addition of the t-case lock on the high-low shifter. Nice!!

Will I be buying a new one from these guys?? you betcha.
