Just because he broke something doesn't mean the H2s suck. Seriously man, get over it!

To a degree your right, the fact that it broke where my DII would have crawled over. Or for that matter I might have made it through with my 2 wd GMC means it lacks.

It was the driving that broke the part, not the vehicle. It is a weak link in the H2. There are weak links on the Disco too, you'll find them soon enough and when you do you will be in the same position as this Hummer. Should we all then say that Disco's suck? The H2 is a more capable vehicle then you understand and in the hands of a good driver a very capable vehicle. Do some searching on the H2 topic here, look at some of the galleries and see that it has been discussed in detail. Here is the picture we have been waiting for...

How would a you get out of a situation like the H2 is in? I guess a tow truck is out of the question given the location. Would you just do a quick fix to get out of there??

At least he had a winch on the front to drag the truck to a flat spot to break out his spare tie rod. Those susp. parts are not tucked in well on those Broncos (Hummer, Tahoe, whatever).

The same way you would get out if you broke a LR track rod. Weld something to it, duck tape, whatever you can manage. quick fix to get off the trail, depending on the fix you would have to make a judement about how the fix would perform on road at speed.

When I am out on a tough trail miles from home I carry ball joints, trackrod and drag link spares. I don't think I will need them now that I have the RTEversions, but they might be useful for others on the trail.

Josh,

There are other threads out here, do a search. The conclusion is that the H2 is actually a very capable vehicle that can keep up with a Disco. In fact it comes with a stock locker in the rear which means that there are many places it might make it that a Disco may not.

It depends more on the driver, than the vehicle IMHO.

I'd guess this could have happened to any IFS vehicle. Fun video, but I don't think it proves the inferiority of the H2.

Tweaking a tie rod like that can happen to the best of the best offroad vehicles.

I feel that video does very little to prove any precieved inferiority of the H2.

The driving ability, spotters actions, and the preparedness for a trail repair are things that could be challenged. Granted its pretty insignificant.
