Winch line is always a hot topic, but I have never heard definitively whether or not it will pinch in a conventional snatch block, say the warn for example. What's the word? Who snatches with synthetic line? what are your experiences? thanks and happy trails. |

Haven't heard of (nor experineced) a problem yet myself. As long as your careful to not let the rope squeeze between the sheave and the body of the pulley block, then you're fine. Bill |

Jack, I like the synthetic line & use it with a SuperWinch pulley block. I use the bigger of the 2 sizes available for synthetic line. Just read a good write up on Expedition Exchange website that had some good pics and commentary about different pulley blocks. (I think the write up was about a show/convention that they had attended, it might have been accessable from the front website page?) I don't know how other brands of pulley blocks work, but SuperWinch is very easy to use. Since most of our recoveries are from gloppy mud that would prefer to swallow trucks, I try to always use pulley block. It cuts the load of the winch effort in half (those might not be the best descriptive words, its the best I can do, I am tired puppy!) I use a roller fairlead with mine. Also spray the heck out of line when I get back home. It's always brown, grungy, and full of dried mud/dirt. After strong wash with water pressure, line is squeaky clean and blue again. Happy trails to you too!! Jamie |

I'm currently running an M8274-50 with Rockstomper synthetic rope (3/8" x 100') and their Alum. fairlead for 6 months now. I bought 2 brand new ARB snatch blocks for it and only it. Seems to be working great, have already needed them twice (on the 27th with hood-deep snow) |

Jack, I have the masterpull 3/8" x 125' yarn and use it with a masterpull snatch block. Recently I have used it in a couple of interesting situations and all is well. Ask Robb Sundmaker, he'll tell you about the power of the yarn |
