I have a few questions so I thought I would put them all in one post. '98' Disco. K, here goes.

1 - Have just recently developed a kind of "gear whine" right under the automatic shift lever. Sound is only noticeable under load, not when gas is let off and whine increases with speed.

2 - Cannot shit transfer case into low range, locked or open. Can shift into high range lock.

3 - Have a "clunk" sound comming from front driver side front wheel when turned hard over.

Of course I have a leaky power steering pump, bad calipers somewhere, bad cats so bad Oxy sensors too, sunroof rattle (for the second time), CD player that won't quit skipping, headlight washers that won't work, and an engine with 170k on it that sounds like it's as loose as a.....well anyhow...the three noted items are what I really need answerd. Any help would be much appreiciated. I love my Disco

1. check oil level in T-case,
2. Check wires on solinoid for power, check linkage to see if it is siezed
3. Sounds like a bad cv or wheel bearing. Check for play in wheel and also oil level in swivels (I would drain and refill based on the pic in you post)
