I'm planning on removing my oil sump in hopes that my pickup is clogged and it's nothing more than this. Any pointers? Do I have to drop anything else? Oil pump, any steering? Just want to be prepared. Rover is in the driveway in the rain right now or I'd take a gander myself. Let me know if you know anything.. Thanks in advance.. Robert

I did my sump a couple of years ago.'96 Aus Spec 3.9. Fairly easy job, Jack up Vehicle and place on stands. I did need to remove the steering damper and track rod on one end only the rod then can be swung to one side. I didn't have to remove the oil cooler hoses ( mine's a manual) On Autos one of the sump bolts is longer and has a spacer, this is used to retain the transmission cooler pipe lines. All in all a very simple job, the sump can be manoeuvred around to remove from vehicle
