can any one tell me if they have had sucess tinting the alpine windows.tint guys say they are plastice and tint won't hold. I have seen plenty of discos with tinted windows (dark) and they seem ok. ps.its not for looks but to try and keep our 90 ltr fridge/freezer from overworking.temps around here are over 100 some days. ta. |

I'm getting my disco done (alpine windows included) by a friend. He's had a look at it, and says he cannot see a problem. He does take the glass out to work on, then refits it. Not sure if this makes a difference. He's using the special tinted plastic which you buy from auto shops. When I see him, I'll ask him if he's had any problems etc. with them. H RNESS |

the only issue ive heard of with tinting the alpines is on D1s with rear air. the air is routed thru the alpine window, hence making it a "double pane." why it would be an issue.. I dont know.. probably becuase the tint man said it would be. maybe he was lying. |

I have my disco tinted except for the alpine windows. The double pane window looks bad if you tint it. The tint needs to go on the inside pane and it is ugly becasue you can tell the outside pain isn't tined. My front windows are light and the rest of the truck is very dark. You will hardly notice that the alpine windows are not done. Email me and I will send you a pic. |
