I had mine out to replace ujoints and never tried to drive it. I have a friend who had a vibration and took his out to see if it was in the front, driveshaft relateted, and he said it would not drive with it out. I don't really see how this would keep it from driving. I don't really know, so I ask the knowlege of this board:-)

If you got CDL - it will drive with locked CDL. If not - then you stuck. Thing is - by removing driveshaft you removing resistance, hence your missing driveshaft will act as free spinning wheels.

When I asked my dealer to help me pull the centering peg for the rotoflex, he said "drop the rear propshaft, lock the CDL and drive it down"

I assumed this meant it won't cause a problem. :-)

I ended up driving in FWD for several days for other reasons with no problems.

As long as you do not put a whole lot of force on it while it has a single drive shaft on it you will be OK. you can tool around town a bit, but accelerate and decelerate smoothly. Sometimes there is a bit more play in the driveline without one shaft and you don't want to make that clunk and worse.
