I just got my 96 disco back from the shop (repairs from a drunk driver running into my truck which was then rammed into a Nissan Maxima--everyone was ok). Now I have a coolant leak directly behind the water pump. I have had a very small leak in the head gasket and don't think( more of a hope) this is unrelated to the head gasket. Any ideas on what is causing the leak and fixes would be greatly appreciated...DougC |

Is that not an insurance issue? Tim |

I had the same - it was the seal. There are two seals, one on the back and one on the front of the pump. Mine was leaking on the back. I didn't do the repairs myself, only passing on what the dealership told and showed me. It was more obvious when the guy presure tested the system. Dean |

Tim-could be an insurance issue, but kind of hard to sell because the impact didn't encroach on the engine bay. I;ll try any way because the damage could have caused a minor leak. Dean-sounds like you and I experienced the same leak. should be an easy fix. Thanks you both |
