What's the best solution besides getting a seat cover? I tried the leather/vinyl repair kit you buy at Pep Boys. But after a few months, the tear is bigger than ever. Are there any repair kits that are more effective than others? Or, is it better to bring it to a professional upholsterer? |

I know 3M makes a clear duct tape that can be used for seat repairs, but I think this would just be delaying the inevitable cover/fix sometime down the road. |

FWIW, I have a 2000, bought used and under warranty. I just had it in for its 48,000 km service, and I asked them if they thought that the driver's seat was wearing reasonably. It had a crack in the piping, and the finish was worn off the outside bolster on the bottom cushion... previous owner was very short, I suspect. Anyway, to the point: they reupholstered the bottom cushion under warranty. Dunno if any of this is relevant, but I thought you might be interested. Good luck! |
