i can get my disco to lock the dif in high, but when i move it to low the indicator says its locked but a tone continues to sound. is that normal or am i doing something wrong? |

That is an indicator telling you that you are in neutral not low. Let the truck roll forward (less than 5 mph) and, with the truck in nuetral, give the lever a good shove into low. If you don't use low much it can get a little sticky. |

97 disco, so i should let it roll foward? its a real hard ass to push up into low should i really shove it hard? |

Yeah, put your trans in neutral and let it roll a little. It is also easier to shift into low with the CDL not locked. (right side of H pattern) When I first got mine I had the same problem. Just give it a quick, hard shove then put it back in drive. You will have to do the same to get it back to high as well. |

You can move your shifter Reverse-Nuetral-Drive-Nuetral with the CDL also in nuetral, this will help it go in. I always take my rig completely into nuetral on CDL *and* shifter when making any changes to the CDL setting. Mine just doesn't like to stay in CDL if I just move the shifter from right to left without taking into neutral. Sometimes it is a bit of a bugger. |
